Hey y'all, I am writing to shamelessly plug my bro Scott Sawyer's
band, Go There - Originally it was a power trio consisting of Scott
Sawyer on guitar,and the rhythm section of Kenny Soule on drums and
Bobby Patterson on bass; both formerly of the band Dag. Go there's
music is very improvisational, no specific genre really but somewhere
(to me) in between jamband and fusion.
They haven't played any shows since 2004, but a new studio cd was just
recorded and there have been some lineup changes. Scott still plays
guitar and Kenny is still on the drums; but Oteil Burbridge is now on
bass (and Ron Brendle acoustic bass on 3 tunes), and Kofi Burbridge is
playing organ and flute. I was present during the recording sessions
last week and it sounded fantastic! The album should be available in 2
to 4 months if all goes well; and once it's mixed and mastered there
will be a track on 2 on myspace... Until then, there are some shows
available for download, but with the pervious version of the band (Dag
rhythm section - still very good) at the live music archive -
